Great new profile story by Sarah Brown of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).
This story is featured in ePilot and will be sent around Vermont and nationwide to all AOPA members.
An excerpt of the full article is below.
A fifth generation Vermonter and the son of a colonel in the Guard, Dubie saw the Guard as a logical choice after college: an opportunity to serve his country while staying rooted in his home state. Vermont Guardsmen are known affectionately as the “Green Mountain Boys,” after the famous Revolutionary War-era militia led by Ethan Allen. So while he was a student at the University of Vermont, he signed up.

Brian has been out traveling the state on his statewide Jobs Tour. Read some of the highlights below:
Dubie begins 'job tour' - Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie kicked-off a six-day "job tour" on Wednesday in Rutland County, hoping to hear employers' concerns.
Dubie pushes state business, jobs - Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie toured several area businesses Wednesday as part of his Jobs Tour around the state.
Dubie: Jobs are Top Focus - "I've heard tax credits and permit reform loud and clear, and I heard it again loud and clear this morning."
Employers: Vt. is a tough place to do business - Much as they love Vermont, employers told lawmakers Thursday that the state is a tough place to do business thanks to a sparse workforce, lack of investment capital and "crushing" tax burden."
Fear and loathing in the business sector - Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie ran a leg of his jobs tour through Chittenden County -- the fifth in a series, and from the response it was clear that neither the administration nor the Legislature have even come close to satisfying the needs of business.

Brian visited Lyndonville and St Johnsbury as part of his statewide Jobs Tour. Please take a moment to read the Calendonian-Record editorial discussing his visit:
Vermont Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie brought his listening tour to the Northeast Kingdom this week. He toured the Miss Lyndonville Diner, two new start up companies in Lyndonville, Weidmann Electrical Technology and a number of other companies in the area. He billed the tour as a listening tour because he believes a lieutenant governor should get out of the statehouse and meet with the people of the state.

Please take a moment to read yesterday's Calendonian-Record editorial discussing why the time is now to pass the jobs bill.
An excerpt from the editorial:
"Add our voice to Dubie's. The time for action is now. Further delay simply prolongs the agony for those who are out of work and whom this bill/program will put back to work. Enough about prohibiting schools starts until after Labor Day, guilt-trip apologies to eugenics victims 80 years ago, and bicycle and pedestrian safety when passing on the highway. They are frivolous issues compared to this. Getting this jobs bill passed is front-burner stuff. Two words to the Legislature: Pass it!"
